[ Monumentorum Custos ]

Monumentorum Custos was founded in 2009 with the goal of informing the expert public about the monument fund via specialized journal, that had yet to be established within the Ústí nad Labem region. Monumentorum Custos is conceived as a regional project, especially for the Ústí nad Labem Region with possible local overlaps. The aim of the journal is to bring and present the results of research projects that focus on the monument fund and originate on the territory of the Ústí nad Labem Region, at the same time the journal is to bring up-to-date and detailed information about the monument fund and its historical and cultural context in the given territory.
The magazine does not focus only on individual monuments (e. g. buildings, castles, chateaux, statues, paintings, etc.), but also aims to provide information on protected conservation areas. At the same time, the magazine is also intended to educate and to show successful or unsuccessful approaches to the protection of the heritage fund.
The publishers are the Faculty of Arts of the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem in cooperation with the National Heritage Institute, a territorial expert workplace in Ústí nad Labem.
